Host your party at Locally Crafted Workshop!
Birthday parties at Locally Crafted Workshop are the perfect celebration for any kid who loves to create. The projects listed here are best suited to 6- to 15-year-olds, so there should be something to suit your crafty kid. We love crafting with tweens and teens, so send us a group of older kids and we promise we’ll win them over!
Working with our staff, you’ll choose a “party project” from the list below. Supplies are high-quality and the finished projects are definitely worth bragging about. We’ll ask you a few questions about your kid, their guests and their interests to help you plan just the right party.
Parties
Saturdays: 10:30a.m., 1p.m., 3:30p.m.
Sundays: 1p.m.
$350 for up to 12 children
$25 per additional child, up to 18
Siblings count as guests. We are open to larger parties, but it will depend on the age of the group and the availability of our staff. Please contact us to inquire about parties on days other than Saturdays or Sundays.
As they arrive, guests will collaborate to color and decorate a banner for the birthday kid to keep to commemorate the day. And yes, this is awesome even for our older guests — it’s definitely not just for little kids. Depending on the age of the group, we’ll have other small projects for kids who might be a little quicker at crafting.
Parties are 90 minutes long, and include time for a party treat that you supply. We kindly ask that you keep food to one dessert treat and only smaller snacks, if you wish — no larger food items, like pizza. We promise, your guests will be so busy creating, they won’t miss the extra food! And it’s one less thing for you to worry about. (Please bring paper products and serving utensils.)

Party Projects:
Ages 6+
Rainbow Collage
Guests will create a one-of-a-kind wall hanging using colored paper, fabric, and other bits and bobs on a wooden rainbow shape. They’ll use beads to make a coordinating hanger so their creation can go straight on their bedroom wall.
Button Art
All it takes is some buttons and glue to transform a plain canvas into a beautiful piece of wall art.
Embellished Initials
Each guest will use a fun array of craft supplies to decorate his or her initial to sit on a shelf or hang on the wall.
Party Projects:
Ages 7+
Washi Tape Silhouettes
This one is tricky to explain, but VERY popular among crafty kids of all ages. They’ll use our huge collection of colorful washi (paper) tape to create a framed silhouette (examples include a unicorn, owl cupcake, initial, or word like “yay” or “love” — we can work with you to find just the right thing for your child and guests). Make sure you see a photo of this one!
Insect Shadow Box
It’s much better than it sounds! Guests will design their own bugs — as cute or creepy as they want. Then they’ll name their critters and give them a place of honor in their own museum-worthy display.
Dreamcatchers
Each guest will choose from a HUGE buffet of yarn, ribbons, lace, fabric, beads, feathers and more to create a gorgeous dreamcatcher wall hanging. Each one is different and lovely. Can be customized to specific themes like unicorn or mermaid.

Ages 8-9+

Bedroom Banner
Each guest will create a wall hanging that features a favorite word or phrase (“good vibes only,” “be brave,” etc.). They’ll make their own felt flowers and use other goodies to decorate it to match their rooms.
Cross-Stitched Initial Hoops
Each guest will learn basic cross-stitch techniques to stitch an initial on gingham (checked) fabric. Then they’ll embellish their hoops to create perfectly personal wall decor.
Inspiration Boards
Each guest will choose a quote as the centerpiece of an “inspiration board” — a corkboard full of all the colors, patterns and pieces that inspire them. (Older kids love this project!)

Ages 11+
Resin Accessories
Learn the basics of resin art to create several small projects, like trinket dishes, bookmarks and initial keychains/bag charms. We’ll provide lots of colorful mix-ins so each accessory is one of a kind.
Adults
Kids don’t get to have all the fun — we also host crafty parties for adults! Whether it’s a birthday, bridal or baby shower, friends’ night out or another celebration, we’d love to chat about how we can host your group in our space. Contact us to get started.
The Fine Print
Here are a few additional things to remember about birthday parties in our workshop space:
Parties are 90 minutes and hosted Saturdays at 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., and Sundays at 1 p.m. Kindly arrive no more than 15 minutes before your party’s start time, and ask guests to arrive promptly at the party start time. Please be sure to wrap up your party by end time. Parties that exceed this time frame may be subject to additional charges.
We will confirm your guest count five days before the party. You will be charged for the number of guests you give us at that time, because that’s how many we’ll prepare materials for.
Remind your guests to dress for crafting! Depending on the project, glue or paint will likely be involved.
Party pricing starts at $350 for up to 12 guests and $25 for each additional guest up to 18. (If you have a larger party, please contact us to have a discussion about options.) If younger siblings will be participating, please count them in the total number of guests. For school-age parties we encourage guardians to drop off and enjoy the offerings at the Rio. Please remind guardians to promptly pick up at the end of the party.
There is a $100 nonrefundable deposit due at the time of booking.
We supply all art materials, artist instruction, a birthday banner as a take-home souvenir for the birthday child … and of course, a stress-free good time.
You may supply your choice of dessert and/or light snacks, and beverages to be consumed after the project. Please be kind and keep all food and drinks at the dessert table for the duration of the party.
Please keep in mind that we have items for sale and materials for other events that are not for use during your private party. Any items that are damaged will be charged to the client.
Tipping in cash is appreciated, but never expected.
